TIME FOR A TECHNOLOGY-AGNOSTIC MOBILITY TRANSITION!

BP, JET H2 ENERGY and VOLVO join the Clean Energy Partnership hydrogen initiative

Berlin, 30 Mar 2023. Hydrogen cars and trucks, as well as H2 filling stations, would be unthinkable without the Clean Energy Partnership. Begun as a former German government funding project, today the partnership comprises 25 companies advocating for mobility powered by hydrogen and fuel cells. The focus is on the filling station of the future. CEP develops efficient solutions and standards for various H2 refuelling options. Hydrogen refuelling should be possible everywhere and easily, whether for trucks, buses, utility vehicles, or passenger cars.

20 YEARS OF HYDROGEN ONLY!

Cheers to the Clean Energy Partnership (CEP): The hydrogen pioneers are celebrating 20 years of collaboration for green mobility powered by hydrogen and fuel cells

On 16 May 2022, the Clean Energy Partnership (CEP) looks back on many years of cross-industry cooperation as it celebrates its 20th anniversary. The work of the CEP began as a beacon and funding project as part of the German government’s National Innovation Programme for Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology (NIP 1), with a specific research and development mission: to prepare mobility with hydrogen and fuel cells for market activatio with zero vehicles or infrastructure at the time. Over the past 20 years, the Clean Energy Partnership has made mobility with hydrogen a reality – and achieved market maturity: today there are 94 H2 filling stations in Germany, 156 across the EU, and series-production vehicles are on the road. But there is more to come – because in the context of the energy transition, the desire for a clean mobile future is increasingly coming to the fore and, thanks to new partners from a wide range of sectors, is helping the industry network to keep growing. And so, the CEP team is pleased to welcome its latest full members LIFTE H2 and cellcentric to the expert platform.

WELCOME CRYOSHELTER

Growth at CEP: Clean Energy Partnership welcomes Cryoshelter!
Berlin, 21 Jan 2022. The Clean Energy Partnership has big news to start the new year: the Austrian cryotank manufacturer Cryoshelter has joined the CEP as its latest partner. Their shared goal: to use their combined expertise to bring CO2-neutral mobility to the streets. The Austrian company’s competencies – cryogenic hydrogen storage and liquid storage of LNG (Liquified Natural Gas) – are a perfect fit with the fields the CEP industry initiative works in: The partnership has set itself the task of developing refuelling standards for mobility powered by hydrogen and fuel cells, and was formative in defining the global standard for 700-bar refuelling for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles.

AN APPEAL TO THE FUTURE
FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OF GERMANY.

Dear members of the future Bundestag,
On 26 September 2021, Germans will hold its general elections. These elections will take place at a time of immense upheaval and change and will present you, the new Bundestag and the new government, with great challenges. The success of your work will be measured, among other things, by the success of your climate and energy policy. With the amendment of the Climate Protection Act and the agreed greenhouse gas neutrality by 2045 in conjunction with the ruling of the Federal Constitutional Court, the time has come to set further ambitious targets and corresponding measures for the individual years. Two elemental aspects are in the foreground: How will Germany achieve these climate protection goals while at the same time remaining globally competitive as a business location? This requires an integrative overall approach that considers all sectors. Because one thing is certain:
THERE CAN BE NO SUCCESSFUL ENERGY TRANSITION WITHOUT A TRANSPORT TRANSITION.
